About us

The company ESPRIT, Ltd., in Banská Štiavnica was founded in 1992. In the early years of our activities the chief part of the company’s scope was a geological environment exploration and subsequent processing of the obtained data. Later, at the turn of the century the main part of production potential of our company consistent with the rising trend of information technologies application in geographic sciences shifted to this area and thus extensive map products started to be prepared. In the course of several years, by implementation of challenging projects in collaboration with Slovak and foreign scientific partners, our company gained broad experience in this area. Activities of the Company are focused on the study of theoretical and practical tasks in the following geo-science disciplines:

Geology, geo-physics, geography, hydrology, geo-ecology, landscape ecology – raw materials prospecting, drinking and thermal water sources prospecting and protection, relations of hydrosphere and its adjacent subsystems investigation

Informatics – geographic information systems – spatial graphic and alphanumeric geo-scientific information processing by high-efficiency computer technology, creation of specifically designed geographic information systems

Computer cartography – is one of the main activities of the company. Resulting map collections are published either as separate book publications or as a part of other projects in a form of separate map sheets, books or digital compilations.
