Air Quality and Climatology Information System - GIS section

The subject of the project is the design, development, testing and integration of GIS functionalities into The air quality and climatology information system of Slovak Hydrometeorogical Institute.
We processed following subsystems:
- Climatological Information System
- Air Quality Information System
The aim was to build a uniform data warehouse for spatial and non-spatial information on the basis of innovative database and geodatabase technologies, maps construction and map services publication, applications development through the GIS server for mapping and geoprocessing tools and integrating the whole system into IT structures of Slovak Hydrometeorogical Institute.
Implementation period : 2008 - 2010

Aggregate Water Evidence – GIS section

The subject of the project is the system integration and application and user interface creation for hydrologic information of Slovak Hydrometeorogical Institute with emphasis on the needs of the water management state administration. They are the following data areas:
- Groundwater quality
- Groundwater quantity
- Surface Water Quality
- Surface Water Quantity
- Water Balance
- Consumptions and discharges
The aim was to build a uniform data warehouse for spatial and non-spatial information on the basis of innovative database and geodatabase technologies, applications tools development through application server for non-spatial functionality and through GIS server for mapping and geoprocessing tools.

Implementation period : 2006 - 2008

Use of geographic information system in woody plants biotical damage
mapping

The project provides data processing and publishing of the Herbarium of the Institute of Forest Ecology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, plant biology department and the detail information about the inventory of woody plants in public verdancy using web and desktop mapping applications. The activities include analysis, design and creation of herbarium databases and detailed information about health state of selected plant species, taking into account the spatial aspect and development and implementation of administrator and internet map applications.

Implementation period : 2009 - 2010

Implementation period: 2005 – 2006

Catalogue of the objects of the landscape-ecological base for the integrated landscape management (ILM)

The Basic methodological  starting point for creation CO LEB ILM is The Digital Geographic Information Exchange Standard (DIGEST) a Feature Attribute Coding Catalogue (FACC) created by the Digital Geographic Information Working Group (DGIWG), according to which a The Catalogue of the objects  of the primary GIS base (CO PB GIS) was designed. We have also derived from the ILM commission documents (the structure of data divided on the base of the geosystematic principle).

Requirements on the CO:

• to define explicitly the contents of the database of the LEB ILM

• to define the code identification of the objects and their attributes

• to define the type of geometry of the objects (point, line, area, raster)

• to define domains of values and possibly units for individual attributes

• to define the data representation of individual attributes (real number, whole number, date/time, text...)

• definiteness of the objects and their attributes coding

• compliance with the normative documents regarding the standardisation of cataloguing and coding

• it must enable creation of a data model in a particular technological environment

Parts of the CO:

Catalogue of objects and their attributes LEB ILM

Catalogue of attributes

Catalogue of domains and values of attributes

Implementation period: 2006

Information System of water conduits and sewage systems

The aim of the project was designing of acquiring, archiving and application use of the data about water conduits and sewage systems in compliance with the Regulation No. 605/2005 of Coll.

Implementation period: 2005 – 2007
