Geological research in its broadest sense is one of the principal activities of ESPRIT, limited company. Our company implements the complex of works in the areas of basic, economic and engineering geology and hydrogeology. We also use advanced prospecting methods, including applied geophysics.
In the area of basic and economic geology we use the combination of geological survey, structural and test wells together with the complex of geophysical methods. The knowledge of geological development and features of geological structures along with the knowledge of their physical and chemical manifestation enable us to determine the optimum prospecting criteria and efficiently select prospecting methods. Many successful results have been achieved in the prospecting of polymetal and gold and silver bearing ores; in the exploration of caustobioliths (mainly coal) deposits; and in the research of geological structures in various regions of the Slovak Republic.
With regard to hydrogeology we work on the prospecting of drinking, mineral and thermal water sources. As a part of these projects we also provide recommendations for protective zones and measures for water quality preservation or improvement. The selection of hydrogeological, hydrometric and geophysical methods is derived from our knowledge of properties of individual types of hydrogeological structures and patterns of water accumulation and drainage as well as from the knowledge of ground water chemical and physical properties. Thanks to this we have achieved excellent results in the prospecting of ground water sources at comparably low costs.
We use geophysical methods as a part of complex of methods of geological exploration and survey in the areas of basic and economic geology, hydrogeology, archaeology, engineering and water management. Out of the complex of light undestructive geophysical methods we use mainly geoelectrical methods, radiometry, magnetometry, gravimetry, thermometry, gasmetry and measuring of conductivity. In our projects we use such combination of the methods which safeguard efficient meeting of the required aims.
